Took a chance on Black Bear Diner after a drive thru Joshua Tree. Did not disappoint!! Aesthetic is lodge/ diner vibes complete with bear upholstery and newspaper themed menus. Thursday night football played at the counter. We were greeted by a host who immediately sat us and got our drink order. Took the kids out for dinner . They had the choice between IHOP and Black Bear Dinner. We are in a town with limited options. So glad they chose The Black Bear diner. Not only are the servers kind and attentive but the food was fresh and delicious . It was like home cooking . I always get hesitant with a chain restaurant but so happy we have this place and decided to try it. The kids got pancakes and chicken fingers which I forgot to get photos of.

The Buffalo chicken wraps are yummy! Place is also really cute inside...service is very laid back, we pretty much just Sat ourselves and someone came to wait on us.. they have the best Mimosas

We stopped for brekkie here on our way out of Yucca Valley and I have to say - I was impressed. The staff was beyond friendly, the plane was packed, the vibe was on point. The food was exactly what the promise - large portions that you can take home or eat there. The absolute definition of comfort food. Gotta say- if this is your jam, it's a 10 out of 5. If it's not, pass on it. We loved the vibe and everything that came with it, but we now know large servings of comfort food falls outside of jam now that we are old! :::laug... read more

My last review about BlackBear was not good. But, they made it better and keep on trying to do better. To me that is amazing. I appreciate Frank for reaching out to myself and hubby Each visit is better and must say my visit last night was very good thanks to Sam and other on staff. I see they try to make each visit better. Also whatever bad review they have they take it seriously and strive to do better and to me that says something about the management and staff .

WOWOWOWOW! I can't tell you how amazing this diner is. Everything from the decor to the incredible breakfast menu to the impeccable customer service was top notch. Our waitress, Yessi, was super friendly and extra attentive. When we come back we are definitely requesting to sit in her section.
