Came home to a dog w hot spots and ended up w a $700 vet bill.
I'm not sure what to think, but the dogs are always barking like crazy on the weekends. We bring our dogs to hike around the Buckingham Reservoir in Glastonbury, and that's all you hear from the parking lot on Coop Rd. - barking from Candlewick. Doesn't seem like a good environment.
my dog came close to death after her stay at Candlewick due to an influenza that the kennel cough vaccine failed to protect her from. Vet bill notwithstanding, the owner showed no sympathy and instead talked only about his loss of business due to having to close and sterilize. He never even said he was sorry. Do not bring your dog there. They do not care.
I'm not one to bash a business for a simple mistake but after my experience with Candlewick Kennels in Glastonbury I'm beyond pissed. Both times turbo went there he came out with kennel cough. The manager who I spoke with was not helpful and did nothing to help remedy the situation. So if anyone is looking to board their dog or do doggy daycare I'd stay far away from Candlewick kennels.
My family had brought all 4 of our dogs here when we had to leave town for a few days to go to my grandfathers funeral. I came back early from the funeral to pick up the dogs, I gave the kennel at least a 5 hour warning that I was picking them up. When I arrived I was still upset and just got the dogs into the car to bring them home.
