Due to a particularly busy schedule, I needed to open a new bank account on short notice. I chose to visit UFirst Credit Union after receiving positive feedback from some colleagues. I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service I received, especially since I arrived just before closing time. I got my Home Equity loan through this place and couldn't be more pleased. The loan officer was awesome!
Avoid having a car loan in this place at all cost. They do not allow you to pay off the car online; they have limits on how much you can pay per transaction and a limit on the amount you can pay off per month. Other than taking cash for the full amount or a cashier's check to a physical location, there is no other way to pay off the car. I have been trying to get this done for a while and I keep getting the run around, obviously still accruing interest on the loan. I have an auto loan with University Federal Credit Union, I mail my payments in every month and supposedly since August they've missed 2 payments. I tried to make a payment over the phone and it would cost $10, I tried to pay online and it's the biggest hassle I've ever gone through. I called to ask if the fees could be waived as I didn't receive a single email, letter or call until March and they wouldn't waive anything and called me a liar saying the left multiple voicemails, sent multiple emails and letters. We had an auto loan through UFCU and decided to pay it off and sell the car as we are moving out of state and only need one car. We asked what we needed to do to get our title so that we can sell the car. They let us know to just come in, pay it off and they would send the title between 7-10 business days. After 2 1/2 weeks we called the bank wondering where the title was. The lady said that it was on its way and that if we didn't have it by the end of the week, to "maybe" call them again.
