There was some headache involved when the clinic got new ownership. However the clinic went above and beyond to make things right.  Also had some issues with prior auths for me meds.  They offered to give me a four month supply of samples so I didn’t have to go through appeal process.   I am a client for the past 7 years or so.  I would highly recommend this practice if you have pain needs!  They provide both procedures and medication (if needed) that have made my quality of life soooo much better! I have been a patient here since 2021 with Dr. Birkland and had no issues. He unfortunately left the practice and my care was transferred to a new Dr. Since Oct of 2025 I have been a patient of Dr. Haack and the issues have been ongoing. For starters they gate keep so that you are unable to speak to anyone other than the tech. This is by phone and by email. The system ONLY allows you to speak to them. I NEVER had this issue with Dr. Birkland. It took them over a month and many many phone calls to get the PA done for my pain ... read more

For the second time, I was refused pain relief. I had an appointment September 2nd assuming I'd receive a epidural which I've received twice in the past. A very rude so called doctor or what ever named Laura informed me, and my fiance, that the procedure couldn't be performed because my insurance company hadn't approved the procedure. This is after my fiance wheeled me in with a wheelchair. My insurance company informed us that the claim had been processed. I ended up in the emergency room at Unity Point west.
