Psychiatrist says he’s not a therapist.. so it felt awkward telling him my problems and just kinda question myself how is this guy giving out medication if he don’t care to relate to the daily struggle of mental health even if he don’t live through it
I had my first appointment with Dr. Damien Lee Young and it was a great experience! He was easy to talk to, listened carefully to my concerns, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire session. I never felt rushed, and he took the time to ask thoughtful questions and explain things clearly. I saw Dr. Young virtually a year ago for a medication consult. I've been on depression meds for almost 20 years...same meds, same dose. I was struggling with grief and some interpersonal issues and was tired of crying all the time. Therapist suggested seeing someone to ask if my meds needed to be changed. Randomly ended up with Dr. Young and found him helpful, compassionate, thorough, and informative. He didn't think changing the meds was the answer, so we didn't change them.
