Absolutely Worth the Drive to Dave's! I drove 1.5 hours to try Dave's, and it was absolutely worth it! From the moment I walked in, the morning staff was fantastic — especially the lady at the front who took our orders. She had a Dave’s bandana on her head and was so kind and welcoming. People giving harsh reviews after this first or second day. This place is open is ridiculous, chill out. They were so busy when I went there and it was only the second day, they were doing a great job, there was so much staff, if you expect fresh food, expect to wait. Especially if it's their second day. People love to complain, I think they did great for all things considering. The food here is amazing, the best fried chicken I've had thus far. Even better than Penny's. Even as food cooled down, it didn't lose its crunch. Also, they didn't charge for mayo... that's a huge win these days. The pickles (thank God) were dill and also so fresh and crunchy! Can't wait to go back and try something else. It was packed, which made it hard to eat in, but that's a given with the fact they are relatively new business and also, food is AH-mazing!
Ordered the tender and slider combo. I can say that the chicken is next to none. The taste is crunchy, spicy, and well seasoned. One of the best fried chicken tender and sandwich I’ve had. The service did take 30 min, however the servers were friendly and got the order just right. Food 5/5, Service 3/5, Atmosphere 4/5.
What a great new spot. Grand opening was today, staff was fantastic. Loved all the artwork on the walls made it a very unique space. Now lets get down to the food. I can't do spicy so i went for the no spice chicken slider. It was still seasoned really well, chicken was super tender, bun was delicious and toppings were great. Heck even the fries were seasoned nice. And a small container of dip came with it which was also wonderful. Great job! Congrats on the grand opening and welcome to Kitchener!
