Very disappointing!! Never had the chance to try Dave’s before, but since I’m local to Stratford, I thought I’d see what the hype was all about. And I just don’t get it… First… it took 35 minutes queuing and even after that you had to fight for seating Second… the chicken was dry and the breaded batter just tasted burnt! The fries were lukewarm warm and not freshly fried. I had a fantastic experience today, especially thanks to Ashek. I arrived during an extremely busy rush hour, but the way he managed the floor was truly outstanding. Despite how hectic it was, he remained calm, professional, and attentive to every customer. After I received my food, he even came over to check that everything was okay, which made me feel genuinely valued. Overrated, that's the word I would use for my review. Attended opening event where they were giving 200 sandwiches for free. It was very busy, as expected, but well organised, thanks to shopping centres security. 3 massive guys can put a fear of god in the hearts of those youngsters, I can tell you. Service was quick, the staff were fine, and the food came out fast. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, but the batter had a slightly burnt taste on a few bites that was hard to ignore. The fries were decent, although the portion felt a bit stingy. The addition of pickles and sauce was a lovely touch. I'm still trying to work out why they give you a slice of plain white bread.
