I was experiencing issues with my left knee and after an MRI, I was referred to Dr. Karl Bowman for surgery. Dr. Bowman himself and his team are always pleasant, warm, and welcoming. He was very formative every step of the way. The surgery itself was a breeze and I was handled with care and respect. He is very knowledgeable and shown excitement to help me get relief from the pain and swelling. Very awesome aftercare post surgery. I will continue to see Dr. Bowman and his team for any future needs that may occur. The best!!

I have been a patient for several months now. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Bowman. He’s an outstanding doctor and a great surgeon. Dr Bowman is wonderful. He was so patient. He explained everything completely, answered all questions and made me feel seen. I never felt rushed or like I was in the way like many doctors have done. I highly recommend Dr Bowman. Surgery was the easiest process imaginable. No one wants surgery. However, Dr Bowman and the staff were kind, compassionate and relieved my worries. If you have to be sick, I definitely recommend this practice.
On December 17,2025 my son had surgery on his right knee due to a meniscus tear and a dislocated kneecap. Although this was a much needed procedure, my son and I were both nervous and scared. We arrived at UNC health of Smithfield, at 6:30am. We were greeted by the downstairs triage staff and immediately taking up to the second floor for surgery prep once we were checked in.
