Had a great experience with Connor and the El Monte team - they took good care of our company and recommend them for future rentals.
Scott (who runs the local RV shop for El Monte) was really helpful setting us up for success (it was our first RV trip). We would definitely rent from them again. They are fair, good quality, and easy to work with.
This was our third El Monte rental (the other two were from different locations) and this rental was as wonderful an experience as the other two. Clean, carefully maintained, low-mileage RV, fully-outfitted and a pleasant rental staff to help us. We took it on a two-week tour of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone NP and had a trouble-free, great time. More recently, we had our first experience with Cruise America (in Connecticut) and it was awful. A filthy, high-mileage RV. Made us appreciate El Monte more!
We have rented RV's for several years, but never from El Monte RV in SLC and we will never rent from them again. The RV had 126k miles and the alignment was so bad, the steering wheel was at a 75degree angle going straight down the road. The locks took much effort to lock and unlock (one consistently took 10+ minutes to work). On the first day, we figured out there was some kind of rodent in the RV. We rented the vehicle from Scott in North Salt Lake, UT. Three days into the trip we got a flat tire. Then we found out we were responsible for all roadside assistance including the tire and a hubcap that I don't think was there but couldn't prove otherwise. At this point, we also found out that all of our tires were underinflated by 15-20 pounds. That doesn't happen in 3 days.
