I first met Elaine when she was working at Rogers Behavioral Center over a year ago, and then followed her to LifeStance because I liked working with her so much. She is extremely genuine and caring and listened to all of my concerns that I had about previous medications I was taking. She always asks how I am adjusting to medications and is open to adjusting things as necessary. I look forward to seeing her at each appointment. I have seen my fair share of mental health professionals in the past- I genuinely felt like Elaine cared about me and my wellbeing. The initial consult was similar to every other clinic - with a series of questions to better understand the patients struggles to narrow down diagnosis and treatment. Not a positive experience for me considering this was my initial visit. She just asked me questions and I didn’t feel as if she cared to listen to my concerns. As a healthcare provider, you would think they would show a bit more compassion or empathy and I felt as if she just wanted to get done with her last appointment for the day and write a prescription to send me on my way. I’m scheduling another visit with a new provider that I hope will provide better insight to my concerns.

I can't speak for everyone but personally the two healthcare providers I have had have gone above and beyond. I first worked with Patricia Stanik whom was patient, supportive and made me feel welcomed from the moment we met. She was kind enough to recommend Elaine Wessel and she equally has taken lengths well beyond the expected to make sure as her patient that I am well cared for.
