I came to Encompass at almost 700lbs feeling like they were my last chance to bettering myself and they honestly ended up being my best experience EVER When you are someome my size you feel like you already at a disadvange and when put in the under the wrong care that ends up being true which makes the fight to get better even harder almost not in sight. The stay at Encompass for my 92 year old blind father was required before he would be allowed to go back to his assisted-living facility. The staff at Encompass could not have been any more wonderful; professional, thoughtful, attentive, delightful, and responsive! This review is completely inclusive of the dietary department, the pharmacy department, the nursing staff as well as the case management staff. After my dad suffered a stroke 10 months ago, I did extensive research to find the right place for his recovery, and I am so grateful I found Encompass. From my initial visit to his final day, the care he received was truly phenomenal. The entire team was outstanding from admission to discharge. When he first arrived, he was unable to stand without assistance, but by the time he was ready to head home, he was able to stand with little to no help at all. My husband was the patient at Encompass in St Petersburg. I did the research and toured the facilities. Encompass is bright clean and welcoming. Private rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The staff is beyond measure. Nursing is kind and skilled. Therapists were fantastic. Austin is a miracle worker. Her understanding of therapeutic needs and patient ability physically and mentally are remarkable . My husband improved greatly after two weeks. I never had a concern of care and support. This place is truly wonderful! I came here from Moffit after surgery. I was completely independent before surgery but after a 10 hr. procedure that was supposed to be 6-7, I was stiff as a board and dependent on simply turning myself, doing personal care, and transferring to/from my wheelchair. It was terrifying to suddenly have to depend on others to do things you do everyday. I will never forget though, coming in on that first night.
