I've rented a storage unit for the past 7yrs at a few different places in Portland. January was my first time at Extra Space Storage and I've had a storage unit at the Happy Valley location for 8mths now. It's a really clean building and I thought I would feel unsafe with the area, but I actually feel really safe stopping in to get things in and out of storage. The staff are really nice. Great spot! Super secure, more cameras than most storage spots. And the lady in the office keeps it super clean.
These folks are ripping you folks off. I moved to a smaller unit due to an also $50.00 a month increase. I was in a 10x10 then moved to a 5x10 for a better price. 3 months into the new contract they raised the rate to be more than what I was paying for the 10x10. That is BS. I called asking for a copy of the new lease and they have not emailed it over.. People just be sure as to who you work with when it comes to storage places. Can't say you weren't warned.

I have rented from this company for over a year, and initially, my experience was very positive. However, after a recent price increase, I chose to downsize to a smaller unit a few months ago to manage costs. Unfortunately, upon receiving my latest bill, I noticed an additional $12 monthly increase. As a result, I am now paying more for a 5x10 unit than I previously did for a larger space. Buyer/renter Beware!! Rented a storage unit from Extra Space in Clackamas after searching rates and storage facilities online. Picked Extra Space because it was clean and the price was reasonable. The person in the office at the time I was renting, mentioned doing it online would get me the best rate. Well, 2 months later, I receive a notice that my unit rent is doubling!! Yes, DOUBLING!
