If you're looking for a safe and secure storage facility with a friendly and helpful staff, check out Extra Space Storage, formerly Life Storage on Pullman in Costa Mesa. Jasmine, the manager, was extremely helpful and polite and answered all of our questions and concerns. Unlike some other facilities, this one is free of the creep element you sometimes run into in these kind of environments. This storage location is very poorly managed. The facility is always dirty and not well maintained. At first, the staff might sound polite on the phone, but once you actually speak with them longer, their true colors show they are disrespectful and unprofessional. They even hung up the phone in my face. If you are on the property, regardless of your situation, they will remove you without hesitation even if you are simply trying to access your own unit. I went to rent a 5x5 unit, and got all the way to the end of the online process having given all of my information, and as I was about to pay for the unit, I got a call from the storage facility calling to say that the space was only for wine storage??? There was no indication or specification on their website that if was only for wine storage, and nothing about any specific storage content requirements anywhere?? I made an appointment with Christine and stopped by on Memorial Day, Monday, 5/26th, to reserve three 10x15 units at a special rate of $78. She showed me the units (all three next to each other on the first floor near the entrance). When asked about making a reservation to move in, she stated that she could hold the units until Monday 6/2nd, and even confirmed that I could prepay the units up to 24 months to lock in the special rate. Do not rent here. False sense of security - they really need to up their security features. Our unit was cleaned out, lock replaced with one that wasn't ours, and no great way to track what may have occurred. I know they are renovating, but they should close and reopen if they can't keep things secure. very poor - do yourself a favor and steer clear!

I typically love Extra Space Storage but this place needs to be revamped ASAP. The staff is great & has always been helpful. I had a 10x10 unit that went from 90-220 a month, within 6 months. As I moved out I uncovered that a mouse & or rat made my unit their home. Mind you I don't keep any edible goods, scented items in my unit. Unless they fix this issue I wouldn't recommend paying that fee for you to share the space with rodents.
