We've had a mixed experience with Fidelity for a recent home purchase. The staff there is very friendly, but that's pretty much all the positive I can write about. The big problem is that they forced us to buy a title insurance, when we did not have to (100% cash). This type of racket should be banned. I recently purchased a home in town. At the close of escrow, a clerical error was found after an otherwise smooth transaction. Debbie and her team went the extra mile to ensure the issue was resolved to everyone's satisfaction. I have a lot of appreciation for Debbie and her team at FNT.
I used Fidelity National Title for the purchase and refinance of an 80 acre parcel overlooking the Napa Valley. After a title error was discovered which was for a mile long access to the property - a claim was opened by the Fidelity title officer on my behalf. Years later after an appraiser was hired by Fidelity from Boise Idaho who valued my loss at $0. Through my whole process of purchasing a home which has been entirely too stressful I walked into our small office of Fidelity National Title and found heaven on earth!!! Madelyn and Katie welcomed me with open arms! They offered their entire office of machines and people(the 2 of them) to help me get through a first-time buyer's nightmare whenever I needed it.
