My husband and I attended the Winning as a Couple getaway. This was our first Focus on the Family getaway, and it was a great experience. We came into the retreat with some conflicts we wanted to resolve, and we felt very supported through the weekend and achieved a lot of the goals we had set in the first session. The experience for couples at the retreat was wonderful! The cabins are very comfortable and are in great condition. The hosts are very loving and the service, the care and attention they give you is beautiful. The lake view by the balcony is very relaxing. They have indoor sitting and outdoor tables to enjoy your meals. The gathering areas are spacious and very clean. The program itself was fantastic. The counselors were great. Even though I am now divorced. I wanted to do all I could to try and salvage the marriage. Anyway, if I could I would give 5 stars for the location and program. 1 star for the support I received after. WARNING: for Military; they WILL NOT HELP you with the TriCare Process for attempting to get anything reimbursed. 🙏 One of my most important prayers was answered here: that I could somehow impact another soul’s salvation positively. His will be done. I saw my husband surrender to Christ here. It was a short moment, then another client prayed with him. I couldn’t be more amazed. God is good. 💰 When I broke down the total cost, half of what they requested since I was approved a scholarship, it still wasn’t worth it to pay what I paid. I used their services in 2021. They only provided one counselor. We were told after arrival and in our first session that the male counselor would not be able to attend the three days we were there. Follow up inquiries were ignored. The organization markets their services to couples who are in a time of crisis, but fails to perform on their promises. The real insult is the blind eye they turn after you leave.
