Dr. Patel is a part of my mom’s care team. He is knowledgeable, doesn’t make us feel rushed, and is kind. He is careful to not perform unnecessary procedures. His staff is also wonderful. I am thankful for all them.

Dr Patel literally saved my husbands life. Yes there was several doctors involved with his wonderful care at OSF, but Dr Patel was the one that did his surgery, that stopped the profuse internal bleeding. He came out after the surgery and reassured me and kept coming and checking on my husband constantly. I have health problems myself and dr was so caring. Very please with the whole process. Dr. Patel was very informative and took his time answering our questions. Surgery went bery smooth, healing great. I was very impressed that he comae out to talk to me in the waiting room to update me about my husband's surgery.
Dr. Patel removed my gall bladder. When he heard my husband was unexpectedly hospitalized he said after my surgery he would go to his room and tell him I was in recovery. He walked over to the other building to see my husband in person and let him know all went well. I am three weeks out from surgery and feel great. He removed adhesions from a previous surgery too. I am so happy I chose Dr. Patel for my surgery.
I have a strange disorder where I dehydrate massively when dehydrated I tend to go into a very rapid atrial fibrillation with chest pain and feel horrible. I asked him over and over to admit me the evening before surgery for IV fluid. My cardiologist called him and told him it would be wise to admit me the evening before surgery for IV fluid Dr Patel refused to do so even with the advice of my cardiologist.
