If I could give negative stars I would! If you have a loved one on home hospice do not use HHC! Big mistake! They try to cut corners by not ordering supplies when you need them. Everything comes a day after you need it. The hospital bed broke down, they sent another bed more than 3 hours later and now the new one won’t even raise to sit up. Then lied about cancelling an order, no one would fix the problem. We had HHC at Home provide full-time daily aids for my mother for a couple years. There was significant turnover and aids were frequently untrained in how to care for a dementia patient. They spent a significant part of their days watching television or playing with their phones. They refused to help her with physical exercise and there were frequent no-shows. Finding out a family member is sick is one thing. But to find out your mother is dying of Stage 4 Ovarian cancer you would expect that the medical professionals that are at your aid would assist you in this way somehow. From the time we found out she was sick their hospital St Vincent’s and Hartford Healthcare at Home treated my mom like she was dead already. I would not even give them a 1 star rating. If the aids call out which in our case happens frequently they never have a replacement until much later in the day.... they do not have backup and management isn't much help as they have the aids call us but the office doesn't call with a replacement for around the time the patient gets up in the am... so the patient would sit and sit for until they decide they have someone... this is not acceptable hospice care!! I do not recommend them at ALL!

We recently had to get hospice care for my mom at home. We truly had an amazing experience with them. I had 24/7 access to any nurse via phone. I had 2 nurses come to the house- one for Mon- Fri and another one on the weekend’s. Both were so attentive to my mom and to us. They would sit and answer any questions we had and spend as much time as we needed without feeling rushed. Thank you Pam and Jennifer for your care, it doesn’t go unrecognized.
