As Joni Mitchell sings, you don't know what you've lost until it's gone. For years, my wife has told me that I was losing my hearing. I don't know whether it was denial or I didn't realize it. Regardless, it finally occurred to me that I was answering yes instead of no, or vise versa, when talking to my absolutely beautiful granddaughters.
