We stopped by Hoover Dam on our way from Arizona to Nevada, since it was perfectly along the route. There was no fee for parking, and plenty of available spaces. We arrived after the guided tours had already ended — but honestly, based on reviews I had read, I wasn’t too interested in the tour anyway. The size and scale of the dam are truly impressive. I also read up on the history and was amazed at how quickly it was built and how much power it generates — really fascinating stuff. We spent about 20 minutes here around s... read more
It was a beautiful experience. The view is nice from the overlook tower. We took a power plant tour and bought tickets at the visitor center. The best part is that all the tours are inside.outside was 110F, so this was a blessing. Their exhibit is nice and very informative. Definitely recommend visiting this place. Overall, it took 3.5 hrs for us to complete everything, including lunch They also have covered parking for $10. Cafeteria is best. I was able to get veggie wrap, and that was tasty, too 😋

The gift shop souvenirs were pretty cheap compared to Ve... read more
I ordered the power plant tour the day before and arrived right at 9. Parking was pretty easy (early April) and the $10 fee in cash is recommended. It is a little confusing to drive in as you go through initial car security before you get to scenic lookouts and parking. We went to the parking deck and not the slightly more remote parking lot. I regret not going to the scenic outlook first because we were too tired after our tour. There are a lot of elevators so most of the area is accessible. We upgraded our power plant t... read more
What a fantastic experience! The Hoover Dam is one of the largest dams is a world and you can go into the dam for 25 dollars a person. The Hoover Dam was constructed during the Great Depression and is on the border between Nevada and Arizona. On the tour, you have to see an outdated video in a theater then you go through a series of exhibits before the tour. You get to go into the generator room and see how vast and grand it is. However, temperatures can get high in the summer so drink lots of water! Overall, I highly recom... read more
