I am so glad we made this trip. It was very worthwhile. There’s parking on both the Nevada side and the Arizona side where you could pay $10 to park which gets you closer to the dam but if you don’t mind walking a little bit, I would save your $10 and just walk. My wife and I decided to skip the tour and ended up paying just $10 to park. We drove to the top of the road, and visited the gift shop on the way down while enjoying the views. Seeing the scale of it all in person was amazing. Definitely worth the trip!
Very neat experience! We did the power plant tour through Pink Jeep, where they take you down to the bottom to see the massive pipes and the turbines. Our tour guide was very informative and it was super cool to see everything in person. After that we went to the observation deck and walked across the dam. Definitely a sight to see! Be prepared to spend a bit of time at the entrance and clearing the checkpoint.
This was an amazing experience!!!! We had Amanda as our tour guide and she did a phenomenal job!!!!! Great info, wild story about building it. And epic sights to see. Highly recommend doing the full tour and seeing inside the dam as well as the power plant. All staff we encountered was friendly and helpful!

The dam also sits across two time zones—Pacific Time and Mountain Time.... read more
