The facility is pleasant and comfortable. The staff are terrific -cheerful and kind. Dr. . MacComber is thorough and willingly answers all questions. The only downside for me is how long my appointment lasts. 3 hours. I always fall asleep in at least one of waiting areas. Ugh
I’ve been seeing Dr. MacCumber for about two years. As always the office staff is super nice and efficient. I do try to make early AM appointments and I’m able to get seen quickly. I feel that Dr. MacCumber is the very best when it comes to knowledge about any retina issues. I had a retina detachment repair by him in June 2025 and a being seen about monthly since. Everything went perfectly and I continue to heal on schedule. I will not see anyone else for any future retina issues.
I started going to Illinois Retina probably since 2018. In all that time the service has always been very good…all the staff has been nothing but friendly and professional…the office does get busy at times and the wait may be a little long, however each patient is given the attention needed with care and compassion. Dr. MacCumber is cool and super helpful in explaining what the issue is and the best way to handle the matter. I may not want the suggested solution but he’s never steered me wrong. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Dr. Mathew MacCumber, my optometrist has been my doctor for the last five years, and I cannot recommend him enough for the excellent work that he does. I initially visited him for floaters in both eyes that were bothersome. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, and he explained to me what my options were and never made me feel rushed.
