Had a great experience learning at their St. Albans branch. Lewis is a great instructor, patient, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He really put me at ease when I started, considering I’d never driven a hgv before. He taught me from start to finish and guided me through every step. His experience and knowledge is second to none. I passed first time with only one minor, all thanks to him. A real asset. If your thinking of getting into the world of hgv driving, I’d highly recommend J Coats

I went for my category 2 training and test with J Coates Ltd. I have to say my trainer Tryston was a brilliant instructor, He trained me through the whole process, from start to finish. Helped me gain confidence with myself and the vehicle, as I had never driven one that large before. He was very patient and professional, and got me through it, even when I had a wobble at times, he was very calm and talked me though it and helped me get back to it. I did my Class 1 with J Coates. I was very nervous going in for my first day of training but within 5 minutes they had clamed my nerves. I trained with Trystan (reverse and forwards) and Lewis (CPC) both were absolutely great. When I sat my test my nerves really kicked in and Tyrstan calmed me down straight away. Such amazing trainers with a lot of patience, I can't thank them enough.

4 day D1 course with J Coates (1 day reverse, 3 days driver training, and test). Couldn't be happier with my experience with them! Chris made me feel at ease straight away, taught me everything I needed to know, he took me on several routes that may be used on test day, which was extremely helpful when I took my test, and massively built my confidence too. Thoroughly enjoyed the days out on the road with Chris, and passed my test at the end of it, which made it even better!

I have just completed my D1 licence with J Coates. My instructor Chris was great, he was very knowledgeable and a great calm instructor. Highly recommend. Thanks Lewis and Chris for all your help and guidance :-)
