Possible failure cause theory It looks like I bought this pump around the same time as others that have had the pump fail.Mine is still running, and I *think* I might know what might have played a part in the failures.the gasket that makes the seal between the pump body and the basket lid is AWEFUL. It is extremely easy for it to not make a good seal, allowing air to be sucked in. This can lead to the pump losing water suction and running dry. Powerful user friendly workhorse I purchased a 3,000 gallon pool and the original best way pump that came with the pool failed miserably. Best way made it impossible to utilize the warranty. Luckily I found this pump because it has worked great. Only negative is the instructions are a little generic or vague. Overall I highly recommend this pump.
