Great pump. I have always used Hayward brand pumps, but this year I decided to try the Dohenys. Just took me minutes to change the hoses after priming. I turned it on and I was amazed how quiet this pump runs. Can't think of anything bad to say.
1HP This is our second one and it is so much better than the first one. It’s very quiet!!
No on/off switch I was replacing a pump that had an on/off switch, and I incorrectly presumed that this pump had one as well. So my only complaint is regarding the inconvenience of having to unplug it every time you want to power down for something.

Two Seasons of Use and Zero Issues I purchased this pump to replace the 1 HP pump for my above ground pool when the motor locked up. I've used the pump for two seasons and had zero problems with it. It moves noticeably more water than my old pump (guessing impeller on old pump was worn), and could have likely gotten by with the 3/4 HP pump. Regardless, it's been a great pump and I would purchase it again.
