MUST VERIFY SEAL IS CORRECT PRIOR TO INSTALL Luckily having an electrical background helped with this installation. I was looking over product,before installation and noticed that the inner seal, Ring, was incorrectly installed. I had to take unit apart and re-tighten and test. It was one instruction, in documents, that is the MOST IMPORTANT. Check seal before installing! Hayward is a quality product and light works great.
Works. I purchased this to replace the light installed in my pool 20 years ago that turned out to be defective in a way that modern LED bulbs wouldn’t fit. This was a good replacement and modern led bulbs fit. My other 20yr old fixture didn’t have the misaligned socket that prevented modern bulbs from fitting.
Great Quality. Works fine, shipping box could be a little stronger.

could never get a proper seal I've bought this because I liked this idea of being able to replace a dead bulb vs changing the shole lamp. Unfortunately, 3 bulbs & attempts later, this thing has always leaked. Not sure if I had a defective unit, since it doesn't seem to be a common problem, but after the first leak and dead bulb, I tried really hard to make sure there was a proper seal, to no avail. There seem to be micro leaks and every time after a few months, the bulb stops working and I find the housing full of water.
Thus is NOT Hayward, 's newest light 1: the bolt that came with the unit was bent, a pain to remove2. The installer told me hayward sells an updated model. The description NEVER said it was an older model , and an average buyer would never know that a newer model was on market.A REVISION. The ring in NOT stainless steel. It corroded over the winter. This company is selling us an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT item than described. I am supposed anazon is allowing thus. Do NOT BUY from this company
