Hi Book Lovers, My name is Jeannie. I opened Jeannie's used books back in 2001. I started with about 40,000 books (most were my own). I have grown to over 250,000 book now. I have about 160 different categories . The large sections are semi alphabetized by author (It is very hard for me to keep every shelf perfect). Each shelf is between 1 to 4 stacks deep. Jeannie and her shop were lovely! So many books to look at, and she was very helpful! She clearly loves the shop and loves sharing her love of books with others. Sections were labeled and widely varied, with books from (I saw) as far back as the 20's to current. Prices were excellent and I was able to find a couple of good additions to my collection. She gave us good recommendations for places to eat nearby, and generally made us feel very welcome! Thanks Jeannie, we'll hope to be back this way again!
What a great used bookstore! There's so much to find for all ages and interests. I have really enjoyed every visit here, especially those with my elementary-aged son.
Jeannie had a wide selection of books, manuals, textbooks, guides, and any literary and written work in between. I stopped there this past weekend looking for some Math, Science, Computer, and Engineering textbooks; and honestly had to stop myself from overpacking my car. The prices are great and the staff are wonderful! Hope to get another chance to see them soon.
If it is books you want, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! There are so many. As you walk into the space, you encounter a hall full of books...but Baby, you ain't seen nothing yet! Inside the large room, ( it was the original school cafeteria) there are shelve upon shelve full of books. They are well organized, and whatever you can't find, just ask! This is her new location, been going to her bookstore for quite some time , her old location was on High Street but now she’s in a better location in Portsmouth , it’s on Portsmouth Blvd as you’re heading to Bubba’s and Franks and East Side Pizza, The store has a whole new feeling to it and it’s spacious and she still has a ton of books to choose from.
