Johnsons charged more than the curtains’ value to clean them, but knowingly returned them damaged without mentioning it. Staff were dishonest and only gave a partial refund when pressed. Despite their disclaimer, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, service providers must use reasonable care and skill, and cannot avoid liability simply by displaying a notice or disclaimer.
