When our previous doctor retired, we were thrilled to find Dr. Liu, who was recommended by two neighbors who are very picky about healthcare. We were blown away by his caring attitude, his willingness to compromise re an annual test, his up-to-date information on diet. The only problem is one that I think is universal in our town: it is extremely difficult to see Dr. Liu because he is now as popular as our old doctor was. It is easy to schedule appointments, but not when you are sick.
I take my father here for his appointments. My dad is picky, so I expected me to play the middle man. But my dad had no issues with Dr Liu nor his staff. Very positive experience all the way around.
Dr. Liu is always very patient and willing to take extra time as needed to discuss options and additional concerns. I have never felt rushed and he listens to what I have to say so we can make joint decisions regarding my treatment options. That includes considering holistic treatment options that are intended to wean me off my prescription medications. He is getting very popular (and rightfully so) and that can make scheduling future or urgent appointments more complicated. Great Doctor!

Dr Liu is great, but but select staff are tragically uncaring/unhelpful to the point of personal deteiment and risk of worsening health conditions to those caught in their web. OSF is what happens when corporate beuocracy and capitalism have a love-child, then that child grows up and has a kid with the US healthcare system. My doctor is great, but the larger OSF is awful, particularly those who are the gatekeepers to the actual medical staff. Goes strictly by lab nos. Complained about fatigue/overall unwell and had to remind him I was due for thyroid TSH check. Saw results and upped my synthroid by very little-did nothing. Asked for a referral to a specialist. Seems rushed and generally doesn't care - has you diagnosed before you open your mouth. I switched doctors have steered family/friends away. He is allowing big insur/establishment dictate how he treats patients. Could never fit me in when I was sick! Promptcare...!
