Avoid K&R Realty at all costs. This company is operated by individuals who are, at best, careless and, at worst, deliberately misleading. In February, my partner and I were interested in an income-restricted apartment listed by K&R Realty. Knowing the complexity of such programs, I made sure to ask upfront about any asset caps in addition to the income requirements. Best management company in NYC! Everyone was incredibly helpful and the building always looked great. Highly recommend!
Avoid K&R at all costs! This management company is beyond terrible. From the moment I moved in, just one month ago, it’s been a nightmare of constant issues—horrendous maintenance, unresolved repairs, and a complete lack of care for the building. They are unresponsive, delay with simple replies, and show no interest in addressing the endless problems. The apartments look nice when you tour but things immediately started falling apart. Jake is a liar. He’s unprofessional. He looked me in my face and lied and said he Just approved an apartment for 251 W. 117th St. on the second floor, which I know for a fact is a lie because I went to View the apartment via the block app, and there were still another tenants belongings in it and a Marshalls notice on the door from October, This building is in the middle of Harlem where I grew up at and I did not see not one black tenant coming and going. We lived in a K&R Realty managed building for one year with no issues. Upon move out, however, the employees at K&R will slowly begin to disregard any form of communication from you once you are no longer a tenant— even if it means potentially breaking the law (not following the NY law of the two- week tenant deposit return time frame.)
