This place is absolutely amazing! The staff there is full people there that truly care about the patients, and makes sacrifices to ensure that they are truly cared for. Unfortunately, negative reviews are expected with this type of agency. If you look up the other places in town, they have similar low ratings from previous patients. Kids are kept against their will for treatment. I can’t imagine most patients “enjoyed” their stay at such places. I’m not discounting their experiences, but I do think this should be kept in mind when reading the comments. There’s several reviews regarding the food and the building. This facility feels very low budget—no shampoo or conditioner provided, limited and often burned food options, and I saw a roach in the main bathroom. Access to water, bathrooms, and even rooms required frequent staff permission, which made it feel unnecessarily restrictive at times. That said, I really loved the patients in the 40+ area, and most of the staff were kind, thoughtful, and professional. Unfortunately, one staff member, Jean, stood out for the wrong reasons. Cant speak to how they are now but when i was 15 i went there (turned 16 while i was staying) and was on the 3rd floor im now 34 Neutral discharge but because of this place i had a complete shift in my behavior and im now married with a 3 year old little girl so thanks yall i appreciate the help! We were at wits end with my father when his doctor recommended Lakeland. Turns out he just needed medication changes and some education on taking his medications properly. Instead of having to put him in a nursing home, Dad is in his home and able to participate in life. We feel like Lakeland gave us a second chance! Thank you so much!!
