I was hospitalized 3 years ago here when I was 16. At the time there was an outbreak of the flu. I caught it and all they did was lock me in a room for 24 hours with no contact with anyone. Staff were extremely inconsiderate, rude and abusive with power. We were made to sit on the floor as no seating was offered unless we were eating a meal. The facilitys were completely disgusting. Whether you are self admitting or are involuntarily admitting someone, please stay away from this place. (I want to first say that this facility has multiple sexual abuse cases against the people they've employed and 32 plaintiffs against lakeland themselves.) I was admitted here on the adolescents unit (4-south) 2 years ago and the things that happened to me and others, stay with me to this day. This place is absolutely amazing! The staff there is full people there that truly care about the patients, and makes sacrifices to ensure that they are truly cared for. The Training Coordinator delivers an in-depth learning experience that is second to none and will give you the confidence to know how to really work with the different types of personalities you encounter in behavioral health. I hate this hospital. Some random old lady with a pimple on her nose or on her cheek, kept calling me sped for not eating my food, like I don't have to eat the food, the food was bad anyway, and I even read the reviews before I got there. I will always hate this hospital and that lady. !! BEGGING !! families to never even consider this facility if looking for adequate behavioral healthcare. Negligence here includes kids going 2 days without showers because of how unregulated / unsafe units were, staff whom let patients use their vaping devices, kids being locked in reset rooms to eat dinner & s/a testimonies. Please look into other facilities & do not work here if you have any sense of morale. best wishes to those who do , i hated witnessing it.
