This is a dry cleaners. I have used Lapels for many years. I have our sheets and pillowcases laundered here. I have driven to the Myrtle Beach Lapels to have a suit altered of my husband. They have always been very professional and good until now…. Went today to collect a very large order of sheets and pillowcases that I had asked to have starched. I wish I could leave a review with no stars at all. We recently found ourselves with a non-working dryer. With an infant in the house, it was not ideal to spend time at a laundromat so we opted to use a laundry service for the first time ever. Unfortunately we picked the wrong one. The Lapels location in Pawleys Island has to be the worst business I have ever had the displeasure of using. We dropped off 25 pounds of clothing for wash and dry on a Tuesday. They don’t adhere to posted hours. I have made a 30 mile round-trip twice attempting to pick up clothes. Once I do get my clothes I will never be going back to this establishment. UPDATE: Contrary to management’s comment, nobody attempted to contact me. I submitted an email complaint after my previous experience with them closing early (a few weeks prior to this review) before posting online publicly and got no response then either. Great service and a great price. Very difficult to find a good dry cleaner in this area that doesn't overcharge you and offers added services like sewing on a button without charging you extra. I will never go anywhere else.
Laundry was not labeled correctly and was assumed lost at various points. Our order was an entire week late. Between the Myrtle beach location and the Pawleys island location I haven’t experienced worse customer service. Almost no attention to detail, or sympathy for the situation. When I informed the Myrtle beach location that they have all of our clothes and we need them back asap I heard them say “that’s not our problem.” After we finally got our laundry back there was absolutely no attempt at making the situation right... read more
