Lack of flexibility over a 2-hour window is why they are losing you as a patient. A rigid, money-first approach from a mental health provider can break the trust required for good therapy. 46 instead of 48 hours for cancelling. I do take fault for not being able to call sooner.

The provider I met with, Sara Holland, was great. Unfortunately, everything else about my experience with Lifestance did not meet expectations. The 48-hour cancellation policy is overly onerous considering patients are folks with mental health issues. At the very least, patients should be allowed to reschedule. The portal is outdated and is extremely difficult to navigate. I could not upload documents to my provider and admin never responded to my messages for guidance. Haven’t seen a therapist yet booked appointment for May 28, 2026. Rushed my child to hospital over the weekend and am In hospital with my daughter so I called to cancel appointment phone finally picks up and inform them that I need to cancel appointment as I am in the hospital with my daughter and I am told that cancellation is going to cost me $100 because I missed the 48hour window for cancellation. I was a little bit nervous but the Dr. Carver and her staff made the appointment and the whole experience so smooth and pleasant. I loved how professional and understanding they were. Different options of treatment approach according to your needs. 100% recommended!
