I’ve only had two booked online sessions so far. First time psychiatrist was late (about ten minutes) second time they never showed. She did call and say she did log in a few minutes before our appointment and didn’t see me signed on. She chalked it up to technical issues. The upside is she seemed to prescribe meds that immediately helped with my depression and sleep issues. I’m willing to stick with her to see if the other matter was a fluke.
I spoke with Lifestance multiple times today 01/23 and was told that they cannot see my child solely because Medicaid is listed as a secondary insurance. They clarified this is their internal policy, not a state law. Even though they told me it was an Illinois state law at first. Their explanation was that if Medicaid refuses to pay as secondary, then my private insurance (BCBS PPO) supposedly would not pay them either. I’m SO happy with my Life Stance Therapist Sheila has a totally different approach & healing techniques than my previous male LCPC Therapist/ brought too many personal issues into patients sessions. Sheila makes me think about things from the past I’m not happy with & gives me suggestions how to resolve many areas of my life which is always a work in progress. Sheila uses calm breathing & visualizations in sessions Our time together flies by.
I finally found my therapist, Kamryn, after multiple poor interactions from online therapy platforms like Grow Therapy and Betterhelp. They basically had low compassionate and said pretty hurtful things that made me me feel more alone. It is life changing to have a well-trained therapist.
The hours say the office is open. I have called multiple times to cancel an appointment but the line never connects. No way to cancel online and nobody answers the phones then tries to charge $100-175 for "late cancelation". Horrible.
