I appreciate that my psychiatrist is thorough and asks follow up questions each time we meet based on what's going on in my life. She's the only one I've had like that and it seems like she genuinely wants me to be at my best. She is respectful that I'm more sensitive to meds and takes it slow, while also being open minded to ideas I have. I appreciate the virtual options as well.
The providers at LifeStance are great—they listen, are knowledgeable, and genuinely care. The billing department? A nightmare. Every visit, virtual or in-person, you have to verify your ID, insurance, update your info, and pay your co-pay. Sounds fine in theory, but when they screw up like they did in my case, none of your updates actually stick. They bill old insurance, ignore portal messages, and months later still don’t fix it. They continue to book appointments in error and are unable to delete accounts from their system to prevent it from happening again. Twice I've been notified by automated email of upcoming appointments when none have been scheduled. We have never had any counseling or treatment from this company, though I occasionally receive "reminders" about upcoming appointments that we didn't make.
I would give zero stars if I could. Do NOT go with this company. After long contemplation I decided to start therapy again. It was a super tough decision. They helped me schedule my session and it seemed to be going fine. The therapist was great BTW. I received my bill and it was so high and clesrly wasnt run through my insurance. I immediately called to get this resolved. And they said that I saw a provider outside my network. This was not true I saw someone in my county of coverage. I feel my Psychiatrist was helpful and listened to me. I got the medication needed and pertinent advice and direction on other health matters. She seemed to generally care about my well being.
