Dr. Louis Gold was referred to me by a specialist. I am now a patient of Dr. Gold's. I have visited with him twice and will revisit in 6 months. I find him to be thorough and takes time to explain my condition and what follow ups are necessary.
I first met Dr. Gold while in the hospital and have been treated by him for over a year. I have found that he will listen to me closely and work hard to find the right diagnosis. He always treated me with dignity and respect even when he didn't agree with my choices.His diagnosis has been validated by Drs. in Boston and he was the one to suggest seeking help outside Albany. I am very grateful for his kindness and his knowledge.
I must say that my interaction with him was a challenge at best. Unfortunately, my regular doctor was out and I went to see him for a sick appointment and it was a nightmare. He was disrespectful, rude, impatient and at one point during the appointment I asked him to consult with another doctor who wanted me to get guidance as it related to a medical procedure I was going to be having soon and he became irate-telling me that he had "his own patients to see" that he had "stuff to do" and "didn't have time to communicate with ... read more
Felt rushed. Brought my mother to Dr. Gold. He didn’t offer her any alternative therapies except to increase her oxygen and to get her affairs in order because he didn’t feel that she was going to live long. She left the appointment feeling so discouraged. His bed side manner was abrupt and insensitive.
Dr. Gold... Seems rushed in his visits. When my mother was suffering severely with cold he just told her to continue to use her inhales and oxygen. Really didn't try to help her at all.
