I wouldn’t accuse therapy of being fun, but I would say Mackenzie Gottfried is a terrific therapist, full stop. We all come looking to be released from an affliction, and are terrified to be divested of a crutch (if you believe James Baldwin.) I’m just a human struggling to evolve, pushing against my shell until it cracks. The process is still new-ish, and I’m sure there’s much work to be done before I grow into my new proverbial shell. Horrific experience. When you start your first session as a first time patient and it begins with me being accused of not doing proper paperwork that I was not aware of or made aware of in a appropriate time. That is definitely not how you start any interaction let alone a mental health session that is mainly supposed to be about starting off on a good foot with the hope to building a trusting relationship between the professional provider and the patient.
