We weren’t sure what to expect when we were recommended a mental health therapist for our loved one. We never had experience with a therapist before but were thankful. I had been having a lot of issues in finding psychiatric services over the last few years for myself. Waitlists were incredibly long, or the provider didn't accept my insurance, or they weren't willing to take over my medications. My PCP put in referral with LifeStance Health and I wish I had found them sooner. The initial call takes longer than you'd expect, but not in a bad way. I was trying to become an established patient. I booked an appointment and i am aware to follow up with 48hrs to reschedule which I did attempt to call in reasonable time frame but there was no answer I waited on hold as much as i could but people have lives. To finally get a hold the day of my appointment to try to scheduling a later time in the day but now i am being charge a fee when i followed the policy it’s insane.
If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter had a first time appt with LaPointe on June 23rd which was supposed to last 1 hour. We left the office in exactly 15mins which included us arriving, her waiting to go back, and then coming right back out extremely upset in tears. She was rude to my daughter and laughed at her with a smirk while asking questions. This triggered my daughter to get very upset, start crying, and just walk out the appt. Predatory practice. Charged $75 and didn't even work with anyone. They offered Ohio in person that was 2 hours away. They don't actually care about you, it's just for money. So just be careful and don't look for a therapist when you're in the middle of a mental health break.
