They saved my puppy's life, without a doubt. My beautiful golden doodle had a horrific accident, impaling her chest on a spike exposing her insides with a six inch jagged wound. We drove the hour and half drive to Dartmouth praying she would not die on the way there. Once at the hospital the pleasant amazing staff took her right in to the treatment room. My 11 year old staffy mix was diagnosed with epithelial lymphoma July of 2025. The team took her in immediately and determined she was a good candidate for steroids and CCNU so we started her right away and because of the team and care she gets, it is now April 2026 and my girl is still here. I am always taken care of by the team and the front office staff are amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone. ❤️ Rylee and I are grateful for every day she's still here. 🐶🐾

Amazing experience. Brought in our husky with porcupine quills in her face. They got her into an exam room within minutes, doc was ready for her in less than 20, with sedation and removal the whole visit only took 45 minutes and the final bill was about 70% of the estimate! Happy dog headed home

I brought my dog Larry to Maritime on Tuesday night after he had first been checked by our family vet here in Truro. From the moment we arrived, the team was compassionate, professional, and calm. They had exactly the right balance of kindness and confidence at a time when I was very worried and emotional. While staying in the Halifax/Dartmouth area for over a month, my two-year-old Golden Retriever Jack ended up at the Maritime Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Centre twice. We first suspected a foreign body, but it turned out to be a pretty serious case of gastroenteritis. Both times we were there, the staff were absolutely wonderful—kind, professional, and incredibly attentive.
