I am only sharing my experience at mcca detox, I did not go to the McDonough house. I completed the 5 days of detox. Whole time being there I was treated like a prisoner. They treat you like you’re there for punishment when really you’re there on your own free will trying to get better. I was never assigned a counselor. Granted I talked to a couple of them but you don’t get assigned your own. There are no group meetings or anything helpful like that. My experience at McDonough House was the best experience I've ever had as far as intense inpatient. The counselors where God sent. Nicole, Heather, Wayne, Dawn, and Mike challenge you daily to help you identify the core problem that lies inside they help also with helping you identify the symptoms that occur weeks before you relapse physically. MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. Just want to say that I'm extremely grateful for mcca and all the ways that the staff members helped me out. So grateful to have my life back, free from the bondage of alcohol,and drugs. The staff is unforgiving at best. They lack the compassion and patience it takes to work in a drug rehabilitation center. I recently went to detox here. Other then the obvious feelings I had because of withdrawals. The staff kicked me out of the facility at 4:00am. I had no money no credit card, thank God I had my phone, and also thank God for the girl at the reception desk at the Marriott right next door.
