Decided to give Mike's a try after some disappointments with my usual car wash spot. This location opened about 2 years ago and still has a new, clean look. When I visited, there was no line - 5 stars right there. Two employees greeted me and one showed me a price card with the available options. He pushed the higher priced option and tried to talk me into a monthly package. While this sales pitch seems pretty standard these days, I'm not a fan. Minus one star. Friendly staff and the car comes out clean-- what more could you want? Only bummer is paying for the vacuums. 5 stars for good customer service.
I happened to be in Hikes Point area and needed a car wash. I wanted to vacuum the interior, but I am not accustomed to paying for the vacuum, so I skipped that. I opted for the 22.00 wash, as I had a lot of dead bugs on the hood and grill. I asked if they could clean that off, and was told it would be cleaned. They did not clean the bugs off. Junk vacuums. Wasted money on a vacuum that had no sucking power. Didn't even waste my time trying to fix it. Stopped it with more than 6 minutes left. Can't buy cleaning supplies so bring your own. I left and went to Zips car wash and was very happy. Cheaper washes and free vacuuming and glass cleaner for your ride.
Unbelievable. Kroger and Mike's have teamed up to SCAM people who are getting gas. I was filling up on gas at the Hubbard's Lane fuel station, and was offered a $9 Mike's Carwash. My car was filthy so I accepted. There was NO indication that the car was was located FIVE MILES away from where I was filling up. I was looking around for the car wash and ended up asking the fuel employee where it was. When I realized I had to drive 5 miles in the opposite direction I asked for a refund. Never been more disappointed in a car wash. $9 for the basic wash. An extra $2 for eight minutes of vacuum. $0.50 for another eight minutes, but if you don't press the button before the timer goes off, you're stuck paying another $2. Vacuums do NOT work very well.
