We went on a Friday evening and the noise level was so loud we could only carry on a conversation by yelling at our table
Went to Mirabelle Tavern to celebrate our son's birthday. Excellent meal and service. Both my wife and I had the tuna carpaccio and the Kobe sliders. Both were wonderful and reasonable priced. An looking forward to our next visit.
It was a lovely brunch with lots of different choices. It just got very crowded and the wait staff appeared overwhelmed. We found we had to chase them down to refill our champagne & mimosa's. My husband got coffee that was cold...twice. There was both a large party there for a 50th birthday as well as a wedding so once they came in, the room where the buffet was became very crowded and lots of the selections were gone. All in all the food was wonderful, I think we just hit them on a day when they were very busy.... We would ... read more
The food was very good. My scallops were cooked perfectly and the tea selection was very nice. Service was rather slow and it was very loud because of a wedding reception going on at the same time.
we had Friday, 7 pm. reserv. Bar in tavern open to the restaurant but the vibe is good it just becomes part of the ambience. Had the very reasonably priced prix fix menu. So many amazing options it took a while to choose. Ended up ordering a few appetizers for the table of 7 to taste. The mixed green salad with the goat cheese crouton is super generous for a starter course. The blackened swordfish was unique--a blackened spice marinade instead of the traditional dry spice pan seared, so it was more elegant and lighter (and l... read more
We went for an early dinner (5:45) with a two-year old and 8 month old twins. The staff was more than accommodating for our large family. They have a good kids menu - the fruit plate is fresh and plentiful. The food for adults is always good.
Fifty years ago this charming restaurant/inn overlooking the waterfront was my favorite dining destination, and today, it's as lovely as ever. The lively Sunday brunch in the large tavern area was a departure from the quiet atmosphere I remembered, but the ambiance, with all the romantic nooks and fireplaces, is just as warm and evocative. Service was cheerful and prompt, and the dishes of the reasonably-priced buffet brunch were varied, tasty, and well-prepared, and were accompanied by unlimited champagne or mimosas. I lear... read more
My wife and I were trying to decide on an impromptu early dinner spot. She had remembered that a friend had once gone to Mirabelle Tavern and gave it praise. We love the MT and look forward to going back. The wait staff was very amiable and proficient, my Manhattan was top notch! We had a salad and crab cake to start, also top notch. I had the lamb chops and my wife had the tavern burger which were outrageously good. Topped it off with sharing the cheesecake and an excellent double espresso. Also, a huge plus is the casual a... read more
We arrived a little early for dinner and were led to the bar by a very pleasant hostess. Our bartender, Mike, was very knowledgeable and introduced us to a (new for us) wine. He and my husband exchanged their views on the finer points of Scotch before we were led to our table. We were asked if it was O.K. to fill the water glasses contrary to most waitstaff who just reach across and fill them. Our waiter, Adam, was very pleasant and efficient. He came around our table several times to check on us and was not at all intrusive... read more
