Awesome food! Had the prix fixe - salmon for entree, duck breast and red cabbage and creme brulee. I am very particular about my food and the duck is the best duck I've ever had. Just the right amount of crispiness for the skin, a bit of fat, and meat-perfect tenderness. My companion had lamb chops- also the best lamb chops I've ever had (and I'm Australian)! Tender, juicy, and also perfectly done - I had medium chops and it was not overcooked. Creme brulee was also superb, but the accompanying biscotti was really hard.. Def... read more
The Tavern is always a fabulous place! Whether you're alone as a couple wanting a romantic dinner or a crowd looking for commotion... this is the place! The food is outstanding and the service and help is divine. Always pleased by their prix fixe selections. I have never been disappointed!
5 Star Quality all the time. Even enjoy the tavern/bar area as alternative eating location, it's a little more casual/vibrant. You can never go wrong here!
Food was excellent, service was slow with the drinks. Took a good 12-15 minutes to get our first drink. Wife had the lamb chops, and she said they were the best she ever had. I had the shell steak. Tasted excellent, even though it was cooked on the rare side. Cheese appetizer was delicious as well as the crenels Bruele for desert.
A delightful cozy atmosphere with plenty of charm and wonderfully delicious food
NICE PLACE FOR GREAT VALUE 3 COURSE LUNCH...THE FOOD PRESENTATION, THE QUALITY AND THE SERVICE WERE GREAT... WE WISHED WE LIVED NEARBY SO WE COULD GO OFTEN..
One disappointment: waiter acknowledged my written alert that I follow a gluten-free diet. But then he served me food with bread on it twice (entree & dessert). and no mention or offer on a substitution. In my mind he knew I was gluten-free, but he wasn't going to do anything proactive about it.
had not been back in a while and was very happy we went for dinner
The $29.00 Friday nights is a bargain and everybody knows it. Come early for happy hour the drinks are 1/2 price. My friends were very happy with their food, I was disapointed with the surf & turf ($6.00 extra)The lobster was over cooked and the filet was as order (medium)but very dry, and no sauces in sight. Staff is young and friendly.
