This is my second time living at the Myerton apartment complex. I continue to choose this place because of the convenient location for work, DC nightlife, it's private courtyard, and small community. The pictures posted on their website do the property justice, and the leasing office and maintenance staff- despite some of them being new to the property- have been nothing short of stellar performers who show that they genuinely care about making you feel at home. I lived at the Myerton for about three years and didn't have many issues until the very end. Unfortunately, those problems were substantive enough that I would advise against moving here. I had to ask repeatedly for my security deposit back, but I did not receive it until I escalated the issue to Van Metre's legal team because the property manager stopped responding to me. It arrived over 45 days after the end of my lease with money missing--even though the property manager claimed he would not be charging anything--but the... read more
I moved out over two months ago and still have not recieved my security deposit back despite multiple attempts to email or call the leasing office. I am concerned I will end up losing my security deposit despite not having damaged the property. I feel if I had been this late on rent or some other fee, it would have been a completely different story about collecting payment. Pros: - Tim, the maintenance man; he’s always very helpful and friendly. - Convenient location (near DC and nightlife) - Price. I moved to the Myerton to save money, which I was able to do because of the relatively cheap rent - No pests in the home. This is honestly my only requirement in an apartment despite the cons I will share below. Cons: - Rats near dumpsters consistently; it’s pretty disgusting. Ms. Ikea Jones is AMAZING! She is EXTREMELY professional, knowledgeable of the property area and she is a sweetheart. I was promoted to a new position in DC, and literally had a week to find an apartment. I was working with other leasing agents, but other agents would just call me annoyed and pressure me to apply for apartments blindly. Ms. Johnson, refreshed my renting experience and gave me hope.
