I went to see the endocrinologist. Fantastic doctor. It was time to change medication. Once it was known what insulin was available to me it was ordered. Unfortunately, it was ordered via a mail order pharmacy that’s not reliable. I’m an avid user of MyChart. I sent an email to the office asking they cancel the script from mail order pharmacy and send it to a local pharmacy. OSF Healthcare is a shell of its former self. Far too many (although, not all) of the employees there treat patients like numbers and move them through as if they're on some sort of assembly line. I called because my father was in immense pain and needed to have a prescription refilled and they cannot see him for over 3 weeks. Making matters worse, they had the incorrect address on file -- where he has lived for 30 years (clearly an administrative error) -- but, since I couldn't confirm their address, they would not book ... read more
I had surgery today at osf. Everyone from check-in to the recovery nurse was great. Everyone from the operating room came in to talk to me from nurses to surgeons. They all wanted to assure ne I would be taken care of, and say hi. They also let my wife know everything that was going on through text messages. The surgeon called my wife when we were done to let her know how everything went and what follow up I would need. The experience was quite comforting. Thank you all.
They could provide better customer service skills. You shouldn’t have been enable to get to the labor and delivery floor if a badge is needed to get passed receptionist. Then to get a badge is at least a 3 block walk from her room. Unbelievable
Prior authorization department will not submit paperwork until last minute. This means that on the date scheduled, you will still be waiting for authorization. When it gets denied, you will have taken time off work for nothing. When you must appeal, it will have been delayed by weeks because OSF sat on your paperwork for weeks without doing anything.
