The on call ob doctor was very unprofessional. My daughter requested a female doctor when she first arrived at the l&d department and they didn't acknowledge her request. When the on call doctor came to her room he was bossy, demanding and rude. When my daughter reiterated that she wanted a female doctor the on call doctor told he "I'm all you've got" and proceeded to speak down to her. I just wanted to thank everyone at osf for giving me the best delivery experience I could have ever asked for. The nurses, doctors, and staff were all so kind, patient, supportive, and caring during one of the most important moments of my life. Believe the negative reviews. Today August 13th I was admitted by ambulance at 5:30am with complications in breathing and sharp stabbing pains in my breaths. I walked out at 8:45am and not a single nurse or doctor checked me. They took my blood and pee and left me in the room. Not a single nurse or doctor checked my chest or breathing while there. Changing my review as new signs, floor markings etc are now there to better help guide where you need to go. I also have delivered my first child here recently. The Labor and Delivery staff is full of some of the most patient and passionate nurses, doctors, lactation specialists, you name it! I was there for a total of 4 days (2 for induction, and 2 post birth recovery) and had not a single bad interaction with any staff member including housekeeping. Not in any rush to return to this lab at all. I will more than likely drive back to princeton, where there are MORE staff EVERY WHERE in a SMALLER hospital! While there were no issues at all with the lab tech herself, everything prior to that lacked. One of the girls in patient access registration actually gave me a card before we left with a number on it to a lady in ottawa and instructed me to call her stating that the way things were handled with us is NOT hospital procedure or policy at all
