I had Cataract surgery at the Bellingham Wa PCLI last Wednesday 5/28. I have to say that everyone that I came in contact with through the procedure, from checking in at the front desk, the final evaluation, pre-surgery, to Dr Cochrane and the OR staff were wonderful, and caring, and made me feel at ease. I cannot think of a single area for improvement and I am looking forward to Surgery on my other eye next week. God bless all of you for the great work that you do.
When I was deciding whether or not to go through with this I was looking at reviews and all of the bad reviews were because they offer prayer. When you walk in the day of your surgery they give you a sheet of paper and you can check a box at the bottom saying whether or not you want prayer. I'm not religious at all, but I like religious people being confident and finding power in their love for a higher power, so I opted for prayer. I was so excited to enter those doors for my first cataract surgery, and be admitted because as they said, there was no pain and my vision cleared more each time I used the drops. The next best thing was to enter those doors again for my next surgery and experience both my eyes with such brightness and clarity. Again, no pain whatsoever and to also be treated by such wonderful, kind and friendly staff including all those from receptionists to the surgeons.
Context: I am a 22yr old male in heathy condition and had a eye prescription that had been steady for 2-3 years. I got LASIK with Dr. Robert Ford. Before the surgery: I consulted my PCP, Optometrist, and PCLI and was given the green light from all three. Even with being told by all three that I had a minimal chance of major complications, I was RIDDLED with anxiety.
