Brooke and Heather have been outstanding PT and OT therapists. Dietary needs a lot of work in getting orders for patient meals. If a patient is in the gym when they come by, they don't come back to take your order, then you just get whatever and the bare minimum. They do listen to your needs and make a discharge goal/plan. The facility at Fort Sanders is very nice and clean and the rooms are large (only 2 years old).
The care was for my brother, can't say enough how grateful I am for their quality care.
You all were very helpful a very popped in getting my scooter approved. Everybody was very kind anda have no complaints and they're even going to deliver it to my home so that I don't have to drive down to Knoxville to get it since I was just hospitalized for a lengthy stay I will give them five stars and I have no reason not to think they did great.
The Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center is truly the best Rehabilitation therapy center on the planet. I want to thank the entire staff working, at the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation center , for helping my brother Sedreck with his speech and physical therapy due to his stroke and brain surgery.
Shiny new building means nothing, don't be fooled. RNs, and PT and OT at this location try VERY hard to help patients but MANAGEMENT makes the facility miserable. They discharge too soon and don't give adequate patient time to gain strength, the goal. 10/14 days of no constructive PT and OT won't work! Sometimes people need a few more days. A glorified nursing home. They admit patients without enough staff to provide the appropriate care. Sitting or laying in urine 45 minutes to hour plus. However speech. Physical and occupational therapist are very good
Patricia Neal Rehab Center is not the place it used to be. My family member was there 42 years ago following a spinal cord injury and PNRC did a great job. He was there about 8 years ago for short term rehab and that was fine. He goes to the Outpatient Seating Clinic to be fitted for wheelchair cushions and they do a great job. HOWEVER, recently he has had illness, been hospitalized, and now needs rehab due to being weak from laying in a hospital bed. Our experience with my step-mother was not good. The staff was unorganized and inconsistent in regards to communication and care. A few therapists and nursing staff were kind and gentle which we appreciated, but the case manager the other care givers were dismissive to my father and careless with my step-mom. She had a number of issues while there - including an undocumented fall/slip with a staff member present. The staff member told my father "She let herself fall backwards".
