Simply put-this is the worst company we have ever done business with. If I could give negative 5 starts I would. Disorganized and completely unresponsive. Among their many other screwups, they deducted state taxes from an employee last year and never paid the state of Wisconsin, causing us penalties and interest, and 6 months later we still have not been able to get the money back. Paychex failed to process our reemployment tax during our first quarter working with them and we were fined. Paychex completely ignored our seven calls and multiple emails to our account manager and their supervisor. We finally got the issue resolved in November, many months later, and made the decision to cancel our relationship. By far the worst system I ever dealt with. WebSite: Not user friendly. Several times they gave me 5 minutes to use a code, but I didn't get a code via email or it came 2 days late. Phone: not user friendly. No way of speaking to a actual agent, the recording sends back to their web site, then hangs up on you, with out giving you the option to speak to a live agent. Horrible system.
Another small business here that can 100% say this company is TRASH. They have the worst payroll customer service on the planet. They punt you to a different agent everytime you call for assistance. Their management team has zero integrity or self accountability. We will be switching to ADP ASAP.
To fellow small businesses out there considering a 401K benefit offering as you grow, DO NOT consider using Paychex. We have had a terrible experience both with a lack of customer service with payroll services as well as 401K and health insurance administration. We have now left them for a company that has dedicated account reps that actually tend to our small business needs and two months later are still being slapped with 401K admin fee bills although our request for transfer was submitted nearly two months ago (and mind y... read more
