Paychex does not deserve any stars. They mislead clients with their pricing. While it may seem reasonable, it comes with a lot of stress. The customer service and management are terrible--words can't express how frustrating the experience has been. You can send emails to management, but they are often away from their desks and limited to email communication. We've been with Paychex (originally Oasis) for nearly 30 years, and it has been a slow, frustrating decline ever since Paychex took over. What used to be a supportive, reliable relationship has turned into an absolute nightmare. Customer service is almost nonexistent -- it takes multiple calls and emails just to get basic questions answered, if at all. There's no consistency, no follow-through, and zero sense of urgency. Horrible company to work with. Save yourself time, money and headaches by not doing business with them. I was referred by Tax Hive to them and have been incredibly dissapointed since. They give sales people a bad name with their slimmy sales tactics. Hidden fees everywhere, impossible to get a hold of them, and when you do, they just transfer you to someone else. This payroll company's only service is frustration. They hide their charges, tell you one thing and unless you read the volumes of documents VERY CAREFULLY you do not know they are lying to you. They make so many mistakes, over paying taxes, charging fees for which there is no explanation. My personal favorite was telling me the 401K was $50 a month, what they do not tell you is that it is $50 a month toward they payment of the $2000 start up fee. This company is the worst payroll company to ever go with. If you reading this run for the hills because they will only cause you more problems. They are unprofessional and charge you for fees when you do not use their service

I work for one of the companies owned by Paychex. The only problem with the company is that some of the supervisors have weaponized hr to protect themselves when they decide to sneak out of work early.

There was only one person at this branch knowledgeable enough to help us. Paychex ada a whole was a waste of my time. They made several mistakes in the filing of my taxes and the Flex software had many issues. Stay very far away from Paychex if you're a small business. They do not care about you at all. Awful to deal with and a waste of money.
