I wish I would have investigated this company before signing up with them. They bamboozled me into signing up for a 401K program for my 1 employees...then auto enrolled the employee without his approval AND charged me thousands in fees despite being told that it would cost me nothing. By the time I realized they were charging me for this whole 401K debacle, 90 days had passed, and now they need to collect their startup fee? FU! See you in court you shysters. READ THIS -- DO NOT USE This absolute BIGGEST MESS we have ever seen. Payroll is on automatic, and Paychex just does not process it. You need to call them every month to make sure they are not missing payroll. Customer service is highly incompetent, they screw things up all the time. We wanted to cancel payroll within 10 minutes when we submitted it, they reversed they payroll with 1 day earlier than the pay date, and all employees had money withdrawn from their accounts without notice. Paychex failed to deposit my payroll taxes, their one job. Then when the IRS came calling, Paychex lied and said they had made the deposit. They had not. The IRS seized my refund and recorded liens. Paychex finally admitted they blew it, but won't reimburse the $20k in penalties and interest caused by their negligence.
I am extremely disappointed with this company. From the very beginning, we've encountered numerous issues. They consistently mishandle employee payroll and benefits, which are basic functions for a company of this size. The software is cumbersome and full of errors. Despite these problems, they lock you into a contract, and if you decide to leave due to their negligence, they charge exorbitant cancellation fees. We ended up paying $7000 just to leave because their service was so unsatisfactory.
The absolute worst company to ever exist. Do Not use under any circumstances.
