Stay away from Paychex at all cost. I switched my company to them because of how they presented themselves. However, after having them for one month, I quickly cancelled the contract and switched back to our previous vendor. Paychex falsely misrepresented their capabilities and fraudulently entered into a contractual agreement knowing full-well that they could not deliver upon their promises. As a property management company owner in Queens who has been unfortunate enough to use Paychex since 2019, I feel compelled to warn other business owners about this absolute disaster of a payroll company. The most damaging issue is their completely unreliable accounting - I had to file an extension for my 2024 tax returns because their records don't match the actual amounts deducted from my company's bank account. The level of service is consistently poor—high turnover among account reps means there is no continuity, and critical filings are often missed or delayed. Very disappointed in their service. I have a 401k account that we asked Paychecks to withhold money from one employee on a weekly basis and to pay the 401k directly. Found out that Paychecks withheld the money but it was never sent to the 401k company. It accumulated to about $5800. The 401k company contacted me and asked where the money was and I contacted Paychecks. Avoid at all costs. I’ve been trying to access my 401k to pay a major medical bill for over 2 months. I started the process early, as I knew this bill was looming and it was my only option. After 6 case numbers and multiple assurances I would receive funds within 10-15 days, I have yet to see a dime- of my own money. The gross incompetence by Paychex is alarming and no one should trust Paychex with their funds.
