Performance Mechanical is amazing! I don't know about their driving and have not experienced any "hidden charges", but my interactions with Performance and their employees so far has been great!
Our business used Performance Mechanical Group for a freezing problem our HVAC has had before. The HVAC repairman took an excessive amount of time to defrost the unit and then charged us for 45 minutes of travel time at $155 an hour. There was no prior agreement to pay for an HVAC technician's travel time. They also recommended "repairs" including replacing a compressor that we had fully replaced within the last 12 months. Way overpriced for so little that was done. I called them for a refrigerator repair and the costs seemed excessive for the work done. The initial visit cost $400 and they had it working and should have left it. Then 2 weeks later, they overnighted another part, way overcharged for it and they were back with the part and that was $828 additional!! I am not a customer of theirs but one of their drivers on 9/28/18 driving car #125 tried to run me off the road for merging in front of him on a two lane road turning into a single lane. It was absolutely uncalled for and not only unprofessional but illegal and extremely dangerous. Was luckily able to snap photos and a short video which was sent to Seattle PD but this was absolutely dangerous and this driver should not be on the road for this company. I had work done at my business on 7/13/18 and the technician was great. He had to go up north to pick up a part and he was gone for longer than I thought it should take, so I called and the woman that I spoke to was really nasty and said he's either on your roof or on his way. I told her that he was not on my roof and she said "Well I didn't send him on any other jobs". Just rude. When the tech came back he got right back to work and my AC was working again! BEWARE of using if you don't live in the Kent area. The company charges you $110 per hour for the travel time of the driver, which I was not told prior to the service call. For the removal and replacement of a thermostat, I received a bill for nearly $900. I was charged for 3.5 hours labor which represented the time from the moment the driver was dispatched.
